NovaCap: Laser Cap vs LED Cap
Share
When comparing a laser cap with an LED cap, begin with the emitter specification for the exact model. A product photograph showing red light is not a complete hardware description.
Ask what each count describes
A device specification may list laser diodes, LEDs or a combination. Record those terms separately and keep them attached to the supplied model reference.
The NovaCap range description lists 128, 272, 352, 500 and 552 laser-diode configurations. Its current detailed 128-diode cap specification lists 650 nm and 5 mW per diode. Request the corresponding technical sheet for any configuration you are considering.
Check the design used in a study
A 2013 randomised study in men evaluated a TOPHAT655 device containing both lasers and LEDs. The primary paper identifies the combined device and its comparison group.
A study of a combined system does not isolate the contribution of one emitter type. It also does not establish the performance of a different NovaCap model. Keep the complete studied device in view when reading its results.
Compare model information, not just a light colour
| Detail | What to request |
|---|---|
| Emitter type | Laser, LED or a documented combination |
| Counts and wavelength | The specification for the exact supplied configuration |
| Output information | What is measured and where the manufacturer reports it |
| Clinical evidence | The model, study design and intended use actually evaluated |
Prepare a NovaCap enquiry
Include the requested configuration, cap or helmet format, clinic name and the documents your team wants to review. Individual suitability and treatment planning require professional assessment using the applicable instructions.
Explore the NovaCap configurations and clinic quotation route, or send a model-specific question.
For an existing supplied unit, prepare a model-specific enquiry through the NovaCap support and product-document guide.
