PFD Patches in Darker Skin Types: Clinical Evidence

Laser tattoo removal requires careful consideration of skin phototype, tattoo characteristics and laser parameters.

Perfluorodecalin-infused patches have been investigated as optical-clearing accessories during laser-assisted tattoo removal.

Read the study in context

A published study specifically examined PFD patch use with picosecond and Q-switched lasers in Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin types.

The retrospective study included 14 patients with Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin types, treated using PFD patches and liquid PFD alongside specific picosecond and Q-switched laser systems. No adverse effects were reported in the observed group.

The small, retrospective study design and the use of both patch and liquid PFD limit how broadly the findings can be applied. The paper does not establish equivalent safety or performance for the NovaClin Labs patch or for every laser system.

These findings provide relevant clinical context, but results from a particular study cannot automatically be attributed to every commercially available PFD patch.

Check the exact product

For Indian dermatologists, the important questions include the specific laser platform, patient selection, device instructions and product-specific evidence.

NovaClin Labs offers a PFD patch for professional laser tattoo-removal applications. Clinics should confirm compatibility and documentation before use.
