SCATTER robotic SMP device

Robotic SMP Device India: Reviewing a Demonstration

When reviewing a robotic SMP device in India, a demonstration is most useful when it answers specific questions about the instrument. For SCATTER, start with what the automatic swing function describes and how the separate controls are identified.

Ask for one function to be explained at a time

The manufacturer manual lists five swing-angle levels, five swing-speed levels and eight RPM levels. These are separate selections. Ask the demonstrator to identify each control, the information shown on the display and the relevant instruction section.

This is a device-literacy exercise. It helps your team understand the names used in a technical sheet without turning a feature list into a patient-specific treatment plan.

Include the complete physical system

Review the handpiece, stand, dedicated adapter and cartridge system alongside the interface. Ask which items form part of the particular quoted configuration and which are separately supplied consumables.

The manual identifies DOT, torque, a laser guideline, a support bar and a cartridge adjustment. A clear explanation should relate each feature to the actual unit and its instructions.

Separate observation from a clinical claim

Seeing a control change establishes what your team observed on that device. It does not, on its own, establish the result of a patient procedure. Record technical observations in their own terms, and review any clinical claim against evidence relevant to the supplied system.

Make a short review record

  • Device model and configuration reviewed.
  • Functions demonstrated and questions answered.
  • Manual and cartridge references discussed.
  • Documents or commercial details still to be confirmed.

Bring the resulting questions to the clinical lead and purchasing contact. Formal professional training can then be considered using the team's existing experience and the programme requirements.

Review SCATTER specifications, ask about SCATTER training, or enquire about available device demonstration arrangements.
