9-Pin Meso Needle Model Substitution Record
Use this record when a supplier proposes a different nine-pin meso needle model from the one requested. It makes the change visible to the responsible clinical reviewer and purchasing team. Completing the record does not itself approve the alternative or establish clinical equivalence.
Record both product identities
| Specification | Requested item | Proposed alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Exact product reference | ________ | ________ |
| Gauge | ________ | ________ |
| Pin count | ________ | ________ |
| Fixed or adjustable needle-length design | ________ | ________ |
| Listed length or adjustment range | ________ | ________ |
| Supplied components and pack quantity | ________ | ________ |
| Intended host equipment | ________ | ________ |
NovaClin lists 32G 9-pin and 34G 9-pin models with the same listed 0–2 mm adjustment range. The shared pin count and range do not make the references identical. The 32G 16-pin is also a separate configuration and should not be entered as though it were the same nine-pin product.
Attach the information used for review
- The current label or manufacturer reference for each item.
- The supplier’s written explanation of the proposed change.
- Applicable instructions and the specific compatibility information requested.
- The quotation reference and any changes to the supplied unit or commercial terms.
Do not use an image, a similar name or a stock-availability statement as the sole basis for approving the substitute. Where the supplier has not answered a specification question, preserve the gap explicitly rather than filling it with an assumption. Read the 32G versus 34G nine-pin reorder guide for a worked explanation of the identity problem.

Carry the decision into the order
Use the accepted product reference consistently in the quotation, purchase order and receiving record. Retain the requested item and the substitution decision in the history so the next reorder is not based on an unexplained name change. If the host equipment or proposed reference changes again, send the revised information for review rather than relying on the previous decision. For supplier clarification, contact NovaClin Labs with product references and the unresolved questions; patient records are not needed for this product enquiry.
