Multi pin meso needle

Fixed vs Adjustable 9-Pin Meso Needles: Compare the Design

A search for a fixed 9-pin meso needle can mean different things to different buyers. The head may contain nine needle points, but that alone does not say whether the listed needle length is fixed or adjustable. Before comparing products, separate the number of pins from the length-adjustment design.

Two specifications that should stay separate

Specification What to record What it does not establish
Pin count The number of needle points in the named head Whether the needle length adjusts
Length design Fixed length or the stated adjustment range Compatibility with a particular syringe or injector
Model identity Gauge and exact product reference Clinical equivalence to another model

For a fixed-length product, ask the supplier for the stated length and its definition. For an adjustable product, request the range and the instructions explaining its adjustment mechanism. Do not treat a photograph of a cap, collar or exposed needle as a specification sheet.

What the current NovaClin listings describe

NovaClin Labs lists the 32G 9-pin and 34G 9-pin models with adjustable needle length from 0–2 mm. These listings should not be described as fixed-length nine-pin products. A separate 32G 16-pin model also lists 0–2 mm adjustment; it is a different pin-count configuration, not an alternative name for the nine-pin head.

Turn an ambiguous request into a clear question

Instead of asking only for “fixed nine pins,” write: “Please confirm whether this exact product reference has fixed needle length or adjustable needle length, and provide the applicable specification and instructions.” Include the reference of the product being replaced. This gives the supplier a concrete identity question to answer.

If the response offers a different design, keep the original request and the proposed item on separate lines. Ask the responsible clinical reviewer to assess the proposed substitution before purchasing staff accept it. A similar product title is not enough to establish that the items are interchangeable.

Keep a record you can reuse

Use the multi-pin design specification record to capture the original requirement, supplier response and unresolved questions. For a broader selection, the existing model matrix keeps the listed gauge and pin-count combinations together.
